heavenly eyes.
recently i read in matthew 24 as it talks of the end of time. matthew 24:48 "but suppose that a servant is wicked and says to himself, 'my Master is staying away a long time,' and then he begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. the Master will return on an unexpected day and he will cut him to pieces."we must be on constant guard of what is to come. our eyes should be focused on eternal and heavenly things, not temporary and earthly things.
what a love for the world that our culture has. as i read this verse, my heart broke for my friends and for all those around me that do not have heavenly eyes. they have forgotten their purpose and no longer have the eternal perspective that should rule their hearts and lives. this is a reminder to each of us who call ourselves Christ followers. we say so many times, oh my Master will not be back for a long time, i will just live it up right now and get my life back together later. we lose focus on the prize that is Jesus Christ!
1 john 2:15 "don't love the world or anything in the world. if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. for everything in the world comes not from the Father, but from the world. the world and its desires pass away, but the Word of the Lord lives forever."
Father-give us heavenly eyes to see this world the way you see it.

colors of fall.
today i had the privilege of photographing my beautiful sister, morgan. it was such a blessing to be able to soak in God's beauty today and spend some time with her. fall is my favorite times of year. there is such joy and freshness in the air that is not present in any other season. what a beautiful creation He has blessed us with to enjoy. His love is so evident for us in the way He blesses us with His creation.

love unfailing.
His love is satisfying, it's healing. in the glory of His presence, there is peace, unfathomable peace. and in the depths of His love, there is rest that makes us whole. to me His presence is a place of rest and of unfailing love. this love will continue to overwhelm and overtake every part of us until we can't contain it anymore and it will begin to change us. we are no longer bound by the world and the things of it, but we are filled with the Spirit of the Living God. what a promise. find yourself in this love today, let it capture you. let it rush over you. let Him sweep you away in His love until nothing else matters. what an unfailing love.
you are loved.
no matter how far away you and i get from the Lord, one thing is always certain...His love. I am constantly reminded of this sweet promise. every time we mess up, the Lord reminds us of His love. i mess up so many times in a day, and when it finally drives me to my knees, this is when the Father speaks to me in His still, quiet voice and says, 'i love you'.
My Beloved speaks and says to me, "Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away, for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone."

the Father's heart.
recently, i encountered a hurting man. this man walked with a limp and just by watching him, i could feel his pain. in my heart, i knew his hurt was very great. this man's hurt and pain was overwhelming to me and i began to weep for him. i have seen numerous people in pain like this, but never has the Lord filled me with so much compassion towards someone as he did in my heart towards this particular man. i begged the Father for this man's healing. i asked for a time to pray with him for his healing. no matter what the Sovereign Lord decides to do, i am trusting in the Father for this man's healing. whether i ever know it or not, i know the Lord can heal him.
this is what the Lord showed me through this: He showed me a glimpse of His own heart. the Father feels our pain, every single tear we cry, He holds in His hand. the pain i felt inside for this man is what the Father feels when He sees us hurting. the Lord's compassion is so great, far greater than you or i could ever imagine. what a love. what a Father we have.
